GMScan.exe is a GUI or command line multithreaded ping, name resolution, NetBIOS and WMI query utility. It's free to download and use by friends, colleagues and IT people who may find it useful.

I originally developed this tool because I needed to monitor the online status of 100,000+ machines at regular intervals throughout the day however, inconsistences in DNS meant a ping could not be relied on. The solution was to perform a NetBIOS query and reverse name lookup. Using this simple application I was able to check 100,000 machines in under 10 minutes (it also pinpointed various name resolution issues).
